Dear brothers and sisters in Christ.
On this occasion I want to talk about a situation that many people, inadvertently, are victims of. This situation is relativism. Relativism is a philosophical idea which states that all views are equally valid, therefore, every truth is relative (never absolute) to each individual.
The surnames given to relativism leads this philosophical form to question other more specific areas, such as cultural, ethical and moral relativism.
In daily life, it is very easy to hear this saying: everyone has his/her own truth... So, if someone rates something as bad, for other people it will be good. A very simple example: for a diabetic person, it is bad for their health to consume sugar; but for a person in good health, it's good to consume sugar. In this example, we see that the comparison is logical. For a diabetic person, it is harmful to consume sugar; but a healthy person can consume it without any involvement.
As relativism preaches that all points of view are valid, then opinion will always be valid above what the other thinks. In the realm of faith, relativism would preach that all religions are good, because they all speak of the same God. This has caused many people who are Catholic to attend temples of non-Catholic domination, arguing that it is the same god being served. Perhaps it is the same God who is served, but the teaching is different. For some, talking to a Catholic, it's as if talking to the devil in person.
